Things become even weirder when fairy dust is spilled causing the town and all in it to go crazy. To top it all off the doors between the fairy and human world is weakened allowing deadly creature to cross over. It is up to Tammy Jo to fix what has been done to the town with the help of the handsome Bryn Lyons who she is forbidden to be around under the conditions of her family and the challenge. Now the race is on to save the town before the end of Halloween, now if only Tammy Jo can keep from being killed in the process.



Rating:

Thoughts: I enjoyed this book. I only had one issue with this book and that was the fact that the beginning was really slow to the point where I almost stopped reading it, but I am glad I didn't because the ending was really good and has me wanting to read the next one in the series. There were also several plots in this book which can be confusing but I hope that something is done about the loose ends in the next novels. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction and paranormal books also if you like witches and creatures of legend.

Author Bio

D.M. Cain is a dystopian and fantasy author working for US publisher Booktrope. She has released three novels: The Phoenix Project – a psychological thriller set in a dystopian future,Soren – a middle-grade fantasy, and A Chronicle of Chaos – the first in a dark fantasy series. She is currently working on the next novel in the series, ‘The Shield of Soren’, and a novella to accompany it.

This is a poetry book filled of a life of sorrow and happiness as one man struggles to find true love and meaning in his life. Once found the world is a light with his beautiful words describing an encounter with true love in one life changing moment.




Rating:

Thoughts: I loved this poetry though quite sad at times it makes you truly feel for the person who wrote them. The words are very strong and tend to stick with you through time and it's also a very short read only being 25 pages long. Oh what a moving 25 pages that make me want to write poetry again.There were some editing errors but they are easy to look past so there really wasn't any problems there. I would recommend this book to anyone that has just a short amount of time to read something or who is looking for a moving story through poetry of sorrow and love found.

The Path in the Woods


I walked a down a well used path in the forest of life. A path many had walked before, As the path was well worn and clear. Far down this path I could see, This path held no surprises for me. For a while I walked this path with my family at my side. And later my friends walked with me down this path, They walked with me for a while there path was the same as mine. And then they all went their separate ways. Some path turned far from mine, others not too far. Some friends were now gone, other still near enough to call out to. But I now walked my path alone. In the distance I heard a voice call out to me. I talked to this voice for a while as walked. It was always there for me, always willing to listen. My heart told me to try and find this voice, But my head said otherwise. Other voice called out to me for time to time, And for some reason I tried to follow those voices. In the end it only made lost, tired and lonely. But through it all her voice was always there. So for the first time in my life I threw caution to the wind, And left the path to make my own and find her. It was there I found you in the woods, alone and crying. And it was in you that I found the love I had been searching for. It was in you that I found everything I would ever want and need. I knew that no one would ever love more then you, And I knew that I could never love anyone more then I love you.

Gilbert is a 24 year old man stuck in the dwindling town of Endora, Iowa with his two sisters, a mentally disabled brother Arnie, and a mother under the strain of her large weight. Arnie who was said to die young has survived long enough for his 18th birthday which is soon to come keeping the family busy. Being at a cross-roads with himself Gilbert begins to feel the strain of living with his family. Being the only provider for his family as well as being a constant guardian to his brother has taken it's toll on Gilbert. His mother being no help has not even left the house in years after his father's suicide putting an even larger strain on the whole family. Then one day a beautiful young teenaged female comes to town catching Gilbert's heart. The time spent with her has slowly began to change how Gilbert sees the world as well as himself.



Rating:

Thoughts: Though I love the movie the book didn't catch my heart as well as the movie does. They are largely different so don't go watching the movie expecting it to be the same because they aren't. Now I did have a problem with this book, Gilbert's character seemed EXTREMELY cold towards his family and I didn't much like the fact that he referred to his mentally disabled brother as "the retard". The book though does have a good message and is heartbreaking at times. I however did like like the romance in the book even though at times it seemed a bit inappropriate considering the difference in age between the two. If you enjoy the movie I would ask that you try the book because it helps you better to understand the characters.

Thoughts: this was a hear breaking story of a man so close to falling. This is a glimpse into the struggling life of someone with a disability and the challenges they face. At times I found this book hard to read due to the fact that it's written so well that you are living it rather than reading it. This book proves just how strong a person can be after tragedy changes a life.

Thoughts: Tamora Pierce does it again with yet another beautiful novel about over coming the norm and rising on top! This book will make you angry and cheer for the main character as you follow her through life at the castle. You will also fall in love with a band of fantastic characters that are put in such detail that you feel like they are your friends. I loved this book and will continue on with this series as soon as I can get my hands on the next book! I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone who is looking for a beautiful story as well as a quick read.
