Wildwood & Windswept by Jadie Jones BLOG TOUR + GIVEAWAY!

Title: WILDWOOD (The Hightower Trilogy Book #1)

Author: Jadie Jones

Publisher: The Parliament House

Tanzy Hightower is not crazy. At least, that’s what she tells herself. Crazy looks more like her
mother, who studies each sunrise with the same fascination other women give tabloid magazines in the grocery store checkout line. Crazy sounds like the woman on the radio claiming there’s a whole separate world existing parallel to our own. Still, Tanzy can’t deny the tingle of recognition she feels each time she sees her mother standing at the kitchen window, or hears the panic in the woman’s voice coming through the speakers of her father’s truck.

Tanzy intends to follow her father’s footsteps into the professional horse world. But the moment she watches him die on the back of a horse in an accident she feels responsible for, everything changes.

On the first anniversary of his death, a fight with her mother drives her back to her father’s farm in the middle of a stormy night. Neither Tanzy nor life as she knows it escapes unchanged when she is struck by lightning and introduced to a world... unseen, and receives proof her father’s death was no accident.

Two strangers seem too willing to help her navigate her new reality: Vanessa Andrews, a psychiatrist who believes lightning chooses who it strikes, and Lucas, a quiet, scarred stable hand with timing that borders on either perfect or suspect. But Tanzy has secrets of her own. Desperate for answers and revenge, Tanzy must put her faith in their hands as her past comes calling, and her father’s killer closes in.

Tanzy's journey continues in Windswept, the second installment of the Hightower Trilogy... An
Unseen World believes Tanzy Hightower is the key in an ancient prophecy meant to deliver the
only new birth in all of time. They have waited a thousand years for her soul to return to life in
human form. Some of them will stop at nothing to fulfill the prophecy, and others have sworn
an oath to end Tanzy's existence, permanently. Tanzy's body is compromised. Her veins are
now home to the blood of a savage, wild horse, and its instincts are becoming impossible to control. Her world is also divided. She is determined to rescue Lucas, an Unseen creature who has loved her since her first life, and to find her treasured Harbor and the other stolen horses, which are bound for a catastrophic end in a world she can't access on her own. Yet the only allies she has left insist she seeks refuge in a remote safe house on the Outer Banks. While her fellow candidates beg her to stay in hiding, new enemies work to draw her out, making it clear Lucas and the horses are hers for the taking. But Tanzy knows all to well that when your loved ones are used as bait, finding them is only the beginning.

Author Bio

Young-adult author. Equine professional. Southern gal. Pacific Northwest Transplant. Especially
fond of family, sunlight, and cookie dough.

I wrote my first book in seventh grade, filling one hundred and four pages of a black and white Mead notebook. Back then I lived for two things: horses and R.L. Stine books. Fast forward nearly twenty years, and I still work with horses, and hoard books like most women my age collect shoes. It's amazing how much changes... and how much stays the same.

The dream of publishing a novel has hitch-hiked with me down every other path I've taken (and there have been many.) Waitress, farm manager, road manager, bank teller, speech writer, retail, and more. But that need to bring pen to paper refused to quiet. Finally, in 2009, I sat down, pulled out a brand new notebook, and once again let the pictures in my head become words on paper.

As a child, my grandfather would sit me in his lap and weave tales about the Cherokee nation,
and a girl who belonged with horses. His words painted a whole new world, and my mind would
take flight. My hope - my dream - is that Tanzy's journey does the same for you.

Love for Two Lifetimes by Martina Boone BLOG TOUR!

Title: Love for Two Lifetimes

Author: Martina Boone

Two generations, two great loves, one devastating
lie . . .

When Izzy unexpectedly loses her mother in a car accident, her world shatters. Their relationship has always been so close that Izzy can't imagine life without her. Nor can she begin to understand when she finds a secret box of love letters that her mother wrote but never sent. The idea of her mother hiding such intense feelings for more than twenty years without so much as a hint makes Izzy question everything she thought she knew--including the identity of her father.

Following a trail of clues overseas, Izzy steps into a world of glamour and English royalty, one which years ago forced her mother to choose between her obligation to her musical gift and her lovers obligations to his family, title, and estate. It's a world of secrets and masquerades, of heartache and betrayal. And in the midst of this world, Izzy finds a young man who feels as broken as she does herself. The two are drawn to each other--only to find that their parents lies may present an insurmountable obstacle between them.

Thrown together on a coming of age journey of discovery that spans two lifetimes and takes them from a grand estate in the Cotswolds to a hospital bedside in India and ultimately to the Taj Mahal, Izzy and Malcolm try desperately not to fall in love. But some things are impossible...

And some loves are worth any sacrifice...

Uplifting, funny, tragic, and unforgettably, luminously romantic, Love for Two Lifetimes is a tale of two generations of love, a lifetime of friendship, a history of sacrifice, and one last, heartbreaking and hopeful choice revealed in prose, texts, and love letters. Written for young adults and grown-up romantics, if you love the romance of the royal weddings or any story by Nicholas Sparks, Love for Two Lifetimes will have you turning pages late into the night.

“Heartwarming, lyrical, soulful, and with just the right amount of humor: this book sparkles with authentic, layered characters and beautiful, thoughtful prose.”
 — Jodi Meadows, NYT bestselling co-author of My Lady Jane and My Plain Jane

Book Excerpt

Izzy: The End

This isn’t a story about death or grief. It’s about grabbing love while you can.
Malcolm and I are in the hospital corridor in front of the cardiac care unit, and the too-familiar alarms, hurrying feet, and acrid scents of disease melt away around us. There are only the answers we don’t have. And the possibility that loving him may, with the speaking of a single word, turn out to be biblically, terrifyingly wrong.
His hands shake on my arms. His knees bend so we can look straight at each other. I love the sea-ice green of his eyes beneath the dark swoops of brow, the dimple in his chin, the way he concentrates.

We’re pulled together, our bodies tipping closer, millimeter by millimeter, my skin alive beneath his fingers, our heartbeats echoes of one another.

In German, there’s a word for a kiss that makes up for kisses that never happened. In case there can never be more between us, that’s exactly what I need: one last kiss to hold all the kisses that might have been, not only mine and Malcolm’s, but all those that were missing from my mother’s life.

Author Bio

Even before I could hold a pencil in my hand, I was making up stories in my head. I wrote my first book in the second grade, Girls [sorry Lena Dunham], about me and my best friends in college [because college was super cool when you were 8] who went on treasure hunts and fought bad guys with our super powers. My second grade teacher was so impressed with me, she laminated a cover and bound it. That will forever be the moment I dreamed of holding a copy of my own book and placing it on a shelf.

Now all grown up, my head still stays in the fantasy world, fashioning worlds where the power of a star can be harnessed and used for time travel, flying is just as easy as walking here on earth – and my best friends are fairies. My characters are dark and lost individuals, but your love for them will grow when you realize not everything is black and white. I am represented by Rebecca Angus at Golden Wheat Literary.

I have a three book deal with The Parliament House with Book One of my current
trilogy, The Halves of Us, scheduled to be published in 10/9/2018.

Title: The Girl He Used to Know

Author: Tracey Garvis Graves

Published: St. Martin's Press

Release Date: April 2, 2019

Annika has never been very social and the thought of just being around strangers is enough to send her into a panic. The time has come for Annika to leave the comfort given to her by homeschooling to venture off to college. College turns Annika into a whole mess of emotions as it becomes even more obvious that she is not like most people her age and she even comes off acting more like a small child at times than a young adult. One day while hiding underneath her covers reading a book Annika overhears her roommates friends quietly making fun of her for being so strange. Falling into a panic Annika makes a desperate phone call to her parents to come pull her out of college. Pretty sure that she would be leaving college behind for good Annika's roommate pressures her to come down to the common area of the college. Reluctantly Annika agrees and follows her roommate through the grounds to the common area where other students were engrossed in conversations, food, and chess. Annika's eyes fall on the group of students playing chess together. Her interest peeked at the thought of playing the game that she loves to play at home with her father and she is greatly encouraged by her roommate to join the Chess club. That simple act saved Annika from dropping out of college. She also begins to get close to her roommate even though they are both very different people.

Not long after Annika joins the club a handsome fun loving guy named Jonathan joins the Chess club and is quickly paired up with Annika. That one simple decision altars both of their lives forever as Jonathan and Annika slowly become friends then quickly to relationship status.

Jonathan loves everything about Annika right down to her odd quirks that come off as a bit child like and timid. The two were inseparable for what seemed like forever until graduation got closer. Jonathan wanted a future with Annika and had everything planned out for her to follow him to New York after she graduates. Then one simple accident causes everything that they both built between one another to come crashing down and their future together to come to a halt.

After a decade of lost contact Annika finds herself face to face with the man she loved so long ago in college. Everything about Jonathan is the same though many years have passed. The strong love they both had for each other was still there but a bit damaged over the years. When their broken love for each other begins to come back together something bigger than anything they have faced before happens that could bring their love to a permanent halt. Everything is left to Annika to trace the clues and put the puzzle pieces back together or lose Jonathan and her future with him forever.

Thoughts:  First off I must give praise to the BEAUTIFUL artwork on the cover, it seems so simple yet has a lot of meaning once you have read the story. Now some praise for this AMAZING novel! I love this book so much and it has now become a permanent resident on my bookshelf for future readings. The characters are so well written about that you feel their pain and love for each other on every page. The book is written from their time in college to their adult lives and the narrative for the story switches back and forth between Annika and Jonathan which gives you a closer look at their lives and love instead of it just being one dimensional. I will warn you though that the ending for this book is very tense at times and may upset/trigger some people due to a certain topic in history. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes contemporary romance but long for a deeper story line, I assure you that this book will give that to you. Good luck ever getting this beautiful story out of your head after reading it.

After everything is agreed upon the chosen daughter is sent with her twin sister in tow to Moonbound's headquarters to way for the full moon in which the mating ceremony will take place. Everything seems set in stone until it is brought to the two sisters attentions that the first born of every pure blooded vampire couple is to be give as a sacrifice to the demon responsible for the creation of the vampire race. The only way to keep this from happening is to compete in the demon's challenge that he has put together in his own realm. If the challenge is completed then the vampires are allowed to keep they child. The challenge consists of three parts and is highly dangerous and is seldom won. Hunter and his mate must compete in the challenge together but Hunter's chosen mate is to afraid to risk her life for the life of a child even if it is her own. The second sister who is a spitting image of the chosen mate sister offers to compete in the challenge in place of her twin sister in an effort to not only save their future child but also the life of the only person that seems to care for her.

As Hunter and Aylin dive head first into the trials of the demon realm it quickly becomes clear that the challenges may look easy from afar but are very cruel and difficult once started. Even with everything happening around them something seems to be changing between Hunter and Aylin. Feelings for each other begins to surface between the two as they fight for their lives and it is quickly becoming hard to ignore, but once out of the demon realm they can't be together for fear of breaking the contracted deal causing the death of Hunter's clan. The line has now been drawn and Hunter must face the hardest choice he has had to make. Stay with Aylin and be happy risking the death of his clan family or continue the mating to a female Hunter doesn't love and sacrifice his happiness. Two choices, love or duty. Choose wisely.

Thoughts: I literally flew through this book, I am not even kidding I num num nummed this book all the way up. I am loving this series so much they are extremely good paranormal romance novels with really good plots. Normally I don't read a whole series of books back to back but I will admit that I have now read all three books in this series in less than two months. I will be doing a review for the third book in the series later on. These books don't feel like you're reading the same story line over and over like most book series do. Each book focuses on a different characters with chapters being split up between the point of view of the two chosen characters. The whole method of this type of writing makes it feel like you are getting way more story than you normal would by just reading from one character's point of view. I am officially intrigued and I will be checking out Larissa Ione's other books in the future.

Thoughts: I received this book for review after winning the second book in this series in a contest. I wasn't even sure I was going to read the series but I am so glad that I did! Larissa Ione has managed to create a world of vampires with abilities and weakness that aren't found in a traditional vampire. Being so used to reading books with traditional vampires it was a breath of fresh air to begin this series. The intimate scenes at times became a bit cheesy but I have noticed that they got better as the story went on and they are even better in the 2nd book. I love this book so much that I will be investing in a physical copy for future rereading. HIGHLY recommend to any who loves vampires, paranormal romance, or just romance. This book doesn't disappoint.

Title: Wolfskin

Author: Juliet Marillier

Published: Tor Books

Eyvind never wanted much from life, the only thing he had his heart and eye on was to become a great warrior like his brother and to die in battle. Such was the life of Vikings, to die in the rages of battle would mean a warm welcome to the great feast in Valhalla.
As long as Eyvind could remember he had been slowly training himself to become a great Wolfskin (Viking warrior) until the arrival of a boy about Eyvind's age unexpectedly shows up putting a damper on Eyvind's training. Eyvind was tasked with taking care of the boy who's name was Somerled and teach him the ropes around the family farm. Somerled who was an outcast wasn't well liked by the other kids even though he was well spoken. Because Somerled was the brother of Ulf who was a friend of Eyvind's older brother, he had access to good schooling which gave Somerled an ego bigger than himself. Somerled being cast out by the other kids led to Eyvind taking him under his wing. Eyvind taught Somerled the training he knew while Somerled taught Eyvind how to better communicate with others and how to spell his own name.

As years went by Eyvind and Somerled became good friends but their time together was cut short when Somerled was retrieved by his older brother so he could go to royal court were his talents would be better suited working with the king. The separation between the two was short lived though since Eyvind became a Wolfskin requiring him to work with the king.

People change over time and sometimes not for the good, Eyvind could see that change in Somerled at the royal court but with so many people it was easy to look him over. Travel, battles, and the love of a local lady seemed to be a good simple life for a young warrior but his simple routine was taken from him by Somerled when he offered Eyvind up as a traveler to a new land Ulf had seen in his dreams. The deal was to find this new kingdom, get a small kingdom started then the Wolfskin warriors that were still on call would return. Things were horrible from the moment the small group of people and warriors set sail for the new land and it seemed they were doomed to drift into oblivion.

When hope for a new kingdom was almost gone land was spotted. The Island though mostly devoid of trees was a nice place for Ulf to build his kingdom. The only thing that was not in the plan was the people who already call the new found land home. Two different languages and two different religions made the locals very nervous of the new comers but things seemed to meld into a perfect partnership with the leader of the locals and Ulf.

The time for the on call Wolfskins to go back to their kind was quickly approaching much to the phrase of Eyvind who missed his routine life at the royal court. Things seemed to be going as planned until the suspicious death of Ulf rocks the locals and Wolfskins to their core. The only people that were with Ulf the time of his death weren't talking and Somerled got everyone worked up in his grief. Who is to blame for the death of their leader? With the Vikings blaming the locals and the locals blaming the Vikings war was quickly approaching the people of the island. A war so massive it could wipe out half of the people on the island. The answer to the mystery and the possible savior to the people falls on a local girl who isn't ready to lead her people let alone fight a war. Eyvind crosses paths with the local girl intertwining their lives together on the brink of war. With Eyvind and the girl together things start to come full circle and people begin to show their true evil that was kept hidden for so long.

Thoughts: I am going to be honest here and say that I struggled through this book. It was so slow for me as far as plot that I thought about putting it down more than once. Things didn't start to pick up until well after the middle. The small love story is surprisingly what kept my interest in the story as I was becoming more and more irritated with some of the main characters. If you are going into this story expecting a good Viking story then you should probably look else were since this book seems to focus more on the characters relationship than battles and Vikings. I will try the next book in the series but I can't promise that I will finish it. It's worth a try though.

Title: DragonVale

Game Genre: Park Simulator

DragonVale is a very addictive park simulation game where you can breed, collect, and display dragons. The game can be played with friends are by yourself. I have been playing this game for years and I love it. The game is free and though you can use real money to buy extra food, gems, or gold, real money is not necessary in order to play this game. You can race your dragons, battle against others in the arena, or just breed and collect. You do not have to play everyday in order to keep your park running though it is encouraged with daily rewards. There are also special events every now and thing which will allow you to earn even more rare dragons. They are always adding new things to the game to keep it fresh and new even after all these years.

Cinderella's Inferno by F.M. Boughan BOOK TOUR + GIVEAWAY!

Title: CINDERELLA'S INFERNO

Author: F.M. Boughan

Publisher: Month9Books

CINDERELLA,NECROMANCER is CHIME meets ANNA, DRESSED IN BLOOD and was inspired by a real medieval grimoire of necromancy from 15th-century Germany.

Ellison lost her mother at an early age. But since then, her father has found love again. He’s
happy and doesn’t quite notice that Ellison does not get along with his new wife or her mean
daughters.

When Ellison discovers a necromantic tome while traveling the secret passages of her father’s
mansion, she wonders if it could be the key to her freedom.

Until then, she must master her dark new power, even as her stepmother makes her a servant
in her own home. And when her younger brother falls incurably ill, Ellison will do anything to
ease his pain, including falling prey to her stepmother and stepsisters’ every whim and fancy.

Stumbling into a chance meeting of Prince William during a secret visit to her mother’s grave
feels like a trick of fate when her stepmother refuses to allow Ellison to attend a palace festival.

But what if Ellison could see the kind and handsome prince once more? What if she could
attend the festival? What if she could have everything she ever wanted and deserved by
conjuring spirits to take revenge on her cruel stepmother?

As Ellison’s power grows, she loses control over the evil spirits meant to do her bidding. And as
they begin to exert their own power over Ellison, she will have to decide whether it is she or her
stepmother who is the true monster.

Author Bio

F.M. Boughan is a bibliophile, a writer, and an unabashed parrot enthusiast. She can often be found writing in local coffee shops, namely because it’s hard to concentrate with a cat lying on the keyboard and a small, colorful parrot screaming into her ear. Her work is somewhat dark, somewhat violent, somewhat hopeful, and always contains a hint of magic.

You can follow Faith on Twitter (@FaithBoughan) for plenty of flailing about food (she likes to
cook!), TV shows (she watches too many), and world dance (did you know she's been
performing and instructing in Bollywood-style dance for over 8 years?). Or catch her on Facebook where she just might post pictures of her adorable cat and bird... among other things.

Excerpt

My father was right.
We needed to run.
“What is it?” is all I managed to breathe.
“This is the circle of gluttony and greed,” my father said, taking my hand and pulling me away
from my sisters. This time, I did not resist. “What else could dwell here but the true green-eyed monster
itself?”
Jealousy. We faced the incarnate form of jealousy made manifest by my stepsisters. They envied
my ability to walk upon the earth, and they envied the power they thought could be gained by aligning themselves with mortal royalty. Victoria had, after all, tried to marry William.
“Let’s go,” I whispered. “I cannot fight this. I don’t know how.” The monster roared again, and I
turned to flee—but in that moment, Hund launched himself toward the beast. “Hund! No!” I nearly
pulled out of my father’s grasp. “Come back!”
“He’ll be fine,” my father said. “Watch.”
And I did, for as my canine companion leapt, he began to grow. And grow, and grow, new heads
bursting from the sides of his neck, jaws widening until three mouths filled with sword-sharp teeth
snarled before the heinous Jealousy. Hund’s fangs dripped yellow venom, and the claws on his
enormous paws were at least as long as my brother was tall.
This was not Hund at all, this spirit I thought I had called to do my bidding. No, Charon had
spoken the truth when he’d said I had tamed a guardian, though I had not fully understood. This
monstrous ally, this hound who trotted by my side and risked his own body for my protection, I knew by his three heads. This was none other than Cerberus, the hound of Hades, guardian of the underworld. And he had chosen to protect me.
